18.07.25 NEWS ... On Thursday, July 17, the eighth I Land Sound festival kicked off in Illiku, Saaremaa. Symbolically titled "Day Eight," this year's festival encourages visitors to forget about their regular troubles and live in the moment.
18.07.25 NEWS ... An industrial building in Kohtla-Järve, Ida-Viru County caught fire on Friday, with nine rescue teams arriving to help extinguish the blaze. According to the Estonian Rescue Board the fire is a Class 4 – the highest level of severity.
17.07.25 NEWS ... Estonian reservists this week got their first taste of the French-built CAESAR self-propelled howitzer, which entered into service with the Estonian Defense Forces (EDF) earlier this year, "Aktuaalne kaamera" reported.
17.07.25 NEWS ... This week, the music and culture festival Aigu Om! was held in Rõuge Municipality, Võru County. The festival, which is organized by Estonian folk musician Mari Kalkun along with members of the local community, takes its name from an expression in Võro language meaning "there is time, take your time."

Ahead of this weekend's Rally Estonia, top drivers Ott Tänak, Oliver Solberg and Gregoire Munster took on Estonian biathletes Regina Ermits, Hanna-Brita Kaasik and Johanna Talihärm in a special one-off challenge. While he may be among the world's best at motor racing, Tänak admitted he has a long way to go to reach the top in biathlon.

15.07.25 NEWS ... Intense rainfall in recent days has significantly increased the water levels in the Reiu River in Pärnu County. The Estonian Environment Agency and Rescue Board are currently assessing the extent of the flooding in the Pärnu County village of Surju.
15.07.25 NEWS ... The Palestine solidarity group in Estonia held a demonstration in Tallinn on Tuesday to express support for Palestinians.
14.07.25 NEWS ... Last weekend, the hotly-anticipated "Narva Bike" festival took place in the Estonian border town for the first time after a nine-year hiatus. However, heavy rain and thunderstorms forced legendary Scottish rock band Nazareth, who were headlining the event, to bring a premature end to their show just 3 songs in.
12.07.25 NEWS ... After four months of training, Estonian troops carried out the country's first live-fire test of HIMARS rockets on Friday. According to the Estonian Defense Forces (EDF), each rocket hit a bucket-sized target up to 15 kilometers out at sea.
14.07.25 NEWS ... On Tuesday (July 15), the Kangru traffic junction, located on the border of Kiili and Saku municipalities, will be largely opened to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
13.07.25 NEWS ... The first ever KiKuMu cinema, art and music festival got underway on Friday at the Jäneda Training Center (Jäneda Õppekeskus) in Lääne-Viru County. Käsi, Avemaria, Alonette, The Boondocks, Röövel Ööbik and Herbert & Momoko were among the performers on the opening night.
13.07.25 NEWS ... The 2025 Beach Grind music festival took place in Pärnu this Friday and Saturday. Italian dance duo Meduza impressed the crowds on the opening night, as did Estonian hip-hop star nublu and the Pärnu City Orchestra, who performed a special show with appearances from Vaiko Eplik and Maria Kallastu.

Hundreds of Estonian Public Broadcasting (ERR) employees worked behind the scenes last week to bring the XXVIII Song and XXI Dance Festival "Iseoma" ("Kinship") to viewers in Estonia and beyond. Their efforts paid off, with ERR's live and online broadcasts reaching nearly half a million people.

07.07.25 NEWS ... The helicopter, which crashed into the sea between Väike-Vilsandi and Saaremaa on Sunday, was brought ashore on Monday. The wreckage will now be taken to the Police and Border Guard Board (PPA) hangar in Kuressaare for examination by specialist investigators.
