Estonian MP attends Nordic Council's security roundtable

Johannes Kert, deputy chairman of the Estonian delegation to the Baltic Assembly, was in Stockholm on Tuesday, where he attended the Nordic Council theme session "The Nordic Region and the USA — A New Situation" and the regional security roundtable that followed.
"At a time when European countries are increasing their defense spending, it is important to also think about how to use resources optimally," said Kert, a member of the National Defence Committee of the Riigikogu, according to a Riigikogu press release. "For that, it is necessary to pay attention to joint developments and procurements."
At the Nordic Council's theme sesion, the region's security and further cooperation between Nordic countries and the U.S. were discussed with ministers of foreign affairs and cooperation. At the roundtable with the Baltic Assembly, the focus was on the security situation in Nordic and Baltic countries.
