Mikser, Tsahkna to attend EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting

Minister of Foreign Affairs Sven Mikser (SDE) and Minister of Defence Margus Tsahkna (IRL) will attend a meeting of the European Union’s Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels on Monday.
The EU’s foreign and defense ministers will jointly discuss the union’s security and defense policies at the beginning of the meeting.
The foreign ministers are going to talk about migration, relations between the EU and Egypt, the situation in the West Balkans, and the Middle East peace process, spokespeople for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Monday.
At Mikser’s invitation, the ministers from the Nordic and Baltic countries (NB6) will gather in the morning to discuss the Foreign Affairs Council as well as other international issues.

Mikser and Tsahkna won’t be the only ministers in Brussels next Monday. Minister of Rural Affairs Tarmo Tamm (Center) and Minister of the Environment Marko Pomerants (IRL) will attend a meeting of their counterparts the same day.
Tamm and Pomerants will also meet with the EU’s commissioner for the environment, maritime affairs, and fisheries, Maltese Karmenu Vella, as well as other officials and members of the European Parliament’s committees in their respective areas of government.
