Major Tartu intersections to be fully closed to traffic this weekend
A section of Riia Street between Vaksali and Lembitu Streets in Tartu will be fully closed to traffic as digging work posing a collapse risk is completed in the course of reconstruction work on the Riia-Vaksali intersection and overpass.
Public transport and emergency vehicles will be permitted to pass through, according to a press release.
The city recommends drivers both entering and exiting the city use Turu and Ringtee Streets to bypass the closed section of road. For incoming traffic, the final possible turnoff ahead of the closed section is a left turn onto Lembitu Street; for outgoing traffic, the final possible turnoff ahead of the affected section is a left turn onto Filosoofi Street.
Construction work on the Riia-Vaksali intersection is being completed by TREV-2 Grupp AS.
