Estonia's president is elected by the Riigikogu, and a candidate must be put forward by MPs. At least 68 votes of a potential 101 are needed to elect the next head of state.

MPs from the Eesti 200, Isamaa, Reform and the Social Democratic Party (SDE) factions will submit 74 signatures in support of Chancellor of Justice Ülle Madise on Monday at 11 a.m.

Among members of the parties supporting Madise, SDE's Züleyxa Izmailova and Isamaa's Priit Sibul, Andres Metsoja and Helir-Valdor Seeder did not sign the nomination.

MPs from EKRE and Center did not support Madise's nomination.

The Riigikogu will meet to elect the president on September 2
