Estonia Completes its Eurovision Finalist List

The second semifinal of the Eesti Laul, Estonia's Eurovision pre-selection contest, has ended with the last five entries picked for the March 3 final.
ETV's Studio 4 once again became a hive of activity on Saturday night as ten musical acts crowded in to take part in the show, which this time included blond bombshells, electric costumes and violinists in pink. Like the first semifinal, it was hosted by Piret Järvis of the girl-group Vanilla Ninja.
Of the ten contenders listed below, the five marked in bold were tapped to advance, based on the combined verdict of judges and televoters:
"NASA" - Traffic
"Mina Jään" (I Will Stay) - Lenna
"Bye" - Malcolm Lincoln
"Oblivion" - Tenfold Rabbit
"You're Not Alone" - Birgit Õigemeel & Violina
"The Future is Now" - Soul Militia
"The Destination" - Mimicry
"Zombi" - Orelipoiss
"City Nights" - Teele Viira
"Ride" - Cat Eye
These entries will be joining the winners of the first semifinal - "I Don’t Know" by POP Maniacs, "Kuula" (Listen) by Ott Lepland, "Tantsulõvi" (Dance Lion) by August Hunt, "Made Up My Mind" by Liis Lemsalu and "Valedetektor" (Lie Detector) by Loss Paranoias, completing the list of participants in the final to be held in Tallinn's Nokia Concert Hall next weekend.
Video clips of the finalist entries can be seen here to the right.
As with the first semifinal, there were no live performances in the February 25 show - viewers were instead shown prerecorded clips.
Unlike the first show, however, audiences had to do without Järvis's frequent costume changes.
On the set, unseen by viewers at home, the contingents from Orelipoiss and Tenfold Rabbit spent a large portion of the show playfully tossing candies at one another, while not to be outdone, a member of Soul Militia grabbed press photographers' attention by wearing one of the set's throw pillows as a pirate hat.
Such clandestine silliness will be harder to pull off during next Saturday's final show, which will be performed live in front of a large audience in one of the capital's largest concert venues. ERR News coverage will likely include a live feed to that event.
